The two-time defending Class AA state golf champions Brentwood High School boys are headed back to the state tournament after clinching a third consecutive Region 5-AA championship Monday at Bear Trace.
The Bruins, winners of three of the last four state titles, carded a 281 to top second-place Page by nine strokes. Williamson County's other region qualifier, Centennial, was third and paced by overall region champion Hudson Odom's low card of 5-under 66.
The Page girls, also the defending state champs, captured the region crown as well to also qualify for the state tournament next week in Sevierville. Senior Brooke Bennett was the region champion with a 3-over 74, while Annabelle Walton of Ravenwood closed with a 76 to finish runner-up.
