On a busy homecoming night that included a visit from Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, a Fairview High School alumnus, it was a freshman who turned heads leading the Yellow Jackets football team to a 39-0 Region 3-6A win against visiting Harpeth.
Youngster Julius Carter scored four touchdowns on the night, turning three of his seven carries into scores and also returning an interception for a TD. Like the rest of the Fairview team, Carter is simply happy for reversing the Yellow Jackets' record year over year. The boys finished last season on a four-game slide with a rare losing season, but now sit at 5-2 heading into the Fall Break bye week.
"I feel pretty good – last year we were 4-7," Carter said. "We are athletic enough to make a push for the playoffs."
