Lorelai Whitten, a Summit High School sophomore, and Parker Emerson, a Brentwood High junior, were selected as the Gateway Tire Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sept. 8.
Whitten won the Voyles Classic cross country meet, stretching at the finish for a major personal best run, while Emerson scored four touchdowns to lead the Bruins to a region-opening victory over Summit.
The pair were chosen as part of the Athlete of the Week awards sponsored by Garth Bouldin of Gateway Tire & Service Center in Franklin. Each week, athletes from Williamson County are selected and featured in the Williamson Herald throughout the school year.
